The County Government of Uasin Gishu in partnership with GIZ/Stanbic Foundation and Stanbic Bank is training Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) from across the six Sub counties on a coaching programme for them to grow economies and transform lives through job creation within their enterprises.
CECM for Trade, Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Ms Martha Cheruto while addressing them on Friday at an Eldoret hotel, urged them to utilize the training opportunity and capitalize on areas that will see them expand their businesses noting that the capacity building program will help the youth and women towards building strong enterprises in line with governor Bii’s Nguzo Kumi manifesto.
The initiative comes as a boost to the county’s Inua Biashara and the Enterprise Development Funds that also empower SMEs with affordable loans.
Later on, the trade CECM met with Mr. Kenjiro Nakayama, a Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) consultant who is an expert in Sales and Marketing and a lead trainer who is training CountyTrade Department training of trainers( TOT)on sales & marketing consultancy.
The County partnered with (JICA) in a bid to see Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) promote trade and investment in the county.JICA provides technical cooperation among other forms that focuses on promoting economic and social development.
