Acting Chief Officer for Trade, Industrialization and Tourism Kipleting Mengich has called on licensing officers to sensitize traders to have their single business permits as this is one of the departments’ mandates of ensuring that business entities are licensed for them to operate.
While addressing the officers on Tuesday at the county headquarters, Mengich maintained that the department has a revenue target of collecting at least Ksh 250 million by 31st March this year which is the county’s set deadline for the renewal of business permits.
Acting Director Licensing and Compliance Dr Silas Leting they are working on an initiative dubbed “Lipa Leseni Tujenge Kaunti Yetu” which entails enhanced publicity, a one-on-one engagement with traders on sensitization, education and training on the advantages of compliance.
