Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has called on county residents to make use of the established Cooperative Societies to grow themselves economically. The governor says the department of Cooperatives and Enterprise Development has monies meant to support people in groups engage in businesses and earn a living.
Speaking on Monday in Baitany FCS,Tarakwa Ward, Kesses Sub County while on a development tour of the sub County, The Governor further challenged women and the youths who have not joined these societies to do so for them to benefit.
The County boss also issued a cheque worth Ksh 1million to the society urging them to utilize the funds appropriately.
County Executive Committee Member for Trade, Industrialization, Investment, Tourism Cooperatives and Enterprise Development said that already various societies across the county are utilizing over sh48 million that were disbursed last month.
CECs Dr Abraham Serem(Water) Dr Janet Kosgei(Education) Eng Joseph Lagat(Roads), Eng Lucy Njoroge (Sports) accompanied the governor also in visiting Olendu FCS, Tarakwa Ward (ECDE teachers), commissioned Teldet dispensary and inspected Chagaiya High Altitude Training camp.
