COUNTY, KENYA DAIRY BOARD TRAINS DAIRY FARMERS ON FEED AND FODDER FORMULATION FOR INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY

The County Government of Uasin Gishu, Department of Agriculture Livestock Development and Fisheries in partnership with the Kenya Dairy Board (KDB) on Friday trained dairy farmers on feed and fodder formulation to increase milk production.

Speaking while representing Agriculture CECM Samuel Yego, Director for veterinary services Dr. Philip Biama said that the county has done a lot to improve dairy farming starting from subsidized AI Services and vaccination of animals, construction of milk coolers, disease control and construction of cattle dips.

On her part, the Managing Director of Kenya Dairy Board, Margaret Kibogy urged the farmers to curb the use of plastics while milking or even storing their milk in an effort to improve the quality of milk in Kenya.
