INCREASED WATER PROVISION HAS TACKLED PERENNIAL SHORTAGES- DR. KOGOS

ICT, Trade and Industrialization CECM Dr Emily Kogos today joined the North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency during the launch of strategic plan 2022-2026 which aims at driving the agency execute its mandates effectively.

Speaking during the launch of the plan themed: ‘ Access to safe water and sanitation services- closer, faster, cheaper’, Dr. Kogos said the county administration through the department of Water and Environment has drilled more than 132 boreholes, 32 dams and pans have also been desilted and springs rehabilitated across the county to increase water storage and address the issues of perennial water shortages at the same time promoting irrigation for improved livelihoods.

Dr. Kogos urged the water agency to focus on all aspects in the plan so that the four counties of Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Pokot and Turkana that are under them realize its fruits.
