IMPROVING REVENUE COLLECTION TO BOOST SERVICE DELIVERY

The County Government of Uasin Gishu on Thursday held a multi-sectoral meeting to deliberate on various ways of improving revenue collection to boost service delivery to mwananchi.

Speaking during the meeting at the county headquarters, Finance and Economic Planning County Executive Committee Member CPA. Julius Ruto noted that there was a need to work on strategies to improve revenue collection further urging all officers to follow all laws and regulations laid down in the Finance Act.

Let’s ensure we meet and surpass our revenue collection by working within the standardized time frame as this will only enhance our service delivery and provide a conducive working environment,” said Ruto.

Director licensing and Compliance CPA Jonah Lamai said that revenue streams that include land rates, single business permits and approvals are highly depended on to achieving the projected target of 1.8 billion 2020/21 FYs.

This is set to see a consolidated strategy for the government by being in a position to look into what every department and the County at large collect.
