Alcoholic Drinks and Control Board Director Mr. Silas Boit has closed bars which have been operating illegally in Ngeria Junction.
Speaking during an impromptu inspection at the trading centre, Mr. Boit said that his board will not relent until all drinking joints and bars operating illegally have been closed and their owners brought to book.
He said that regular and impromptu inspection shall be enhanced so that the criminals are apprehended. He further asked those who want to continue doing business to comply with all the prerequisite law.
The tough-talking Anti-liquor boss also warned the bar owners who keep shifting their premises other than the one inspected that their businesses stand to be closed citing the illegality of shifting business premises.
The Director ordered a closure of all bars in residential areas irrespective of whether they are licensed or not. This is because minors are easily influenced by alcoholism and therefore measures to curb this behavior should be adhered to.
Mr. Boit thanked the administration police for swift cooperation when called upon.
He asked those who have been affected adversely by alcohol to willingly come forward so that the County Government can enroll them into a rehabilitation program.
On his part, Kesses Assistant County Commissioner Denis Ademba asked the residents to shun vices that hinder development adding that the administration will not relent in enforcing the law.
Other County Officials present were Ward Administrators Mr. Wilson Yator (Cheptiret/Kipchamo) and Mr. Joseph Bett(Tarakwa).
