County Executive Member for Health Mrs Everlyne Rotich on Thursday inspected the progress of construction works for the flagship projects of Ziwa Level 5 Hospital and Kesses Level 4 Hospital.
“The Ziwa level five hospital upon completion is expected to address the demand of health care services to 1.5 million people in Uasin Gishu County and the neighbouring counties,” noted Health CEC.
Mrs Rotich urged the contractors to work in speed to ensure the facility becomes functional in time.
The 350 ultramodern facilities will provide specialized, inpatient and outpatient services. The department is preparing staff to be deployed once the facility is complete.
“We have already started identifying and training staff who will work at the facility to provide services immediately upon completion,” she added.
County Executive Member for Roads Gideon Birir who accompanied the Health CECM in the visit said it will be the best hospital.
We are here on routine inspection and check on the progress to see that it attains the required quality and standard, he said revealing that the Sh800 million facility will be completed in the next 2 years.
The groundwork is already 65 per cent complete.
Later, the duo also visited Kesses level 4 hospital which is the phase 2 flagship project.
The 200-bed capacity hospital will provide services including surgical, maternity, pediatric, critical care and medical.
“We will work on the scheduled time, quality assured and the project will be completed on time,” noted Birir.
“We have handed over to a contractor to built 3-floor building at the cost of Sh400 million,” he added.
