HEALTH CARE WORKERS URGED TO EXERCISE PRECAUTION WHILE ON DUTY

Health Services CECM Everlyne Rotich has called upon all health care workers handling COVID-19 cases to take precautionary measures against the virus through wearing of personal protective equipment to prevent them from contracting the virus in line of duty.

Speaking during a COVID-19 infection, prevention and control capacity building of health care workers at an Eldoret Hotel sponsored by World Health Organization, Rotich said that policy guidelines towards ensuring workplace safety has been provided and staff need to adhere to them.

The Department of Health has been able to offer capacity building to health care workers and also provide personal protective equipment (PPE’s) to all staff at the front-line, this has seen fewer cases of transmission to caregivers,” said Rotich.

The Health Executive also called upon the members of the public to adhere to the Ministry of Health guidelines to flatted the curve against the virus.
