Governor Mandago ask Doctors to be reasonable on their demand

H.E Governor Jackson Mandago has asked medical practitioners to look back to the oath they took for their profession.

The County Chief says medical practitioners vowed to protect and save lives to the best of their ability.

This call comes even as doctors continue with their strike, keeping off from hospitals for the sixth week now.

The doctors are demanding the implementation of  Collective Burgaining Agreement which carries, among others, pay increase.

According to the Governor, whether there is a CBA or not, the demands should be reasonable.

“The deal you are seeking should also make some sense. It should be reasonable,” he said.

“Let money you are seeking not overshadow the importance of saving a life.”

A little over a week ago, the doctors rejected a 40 percent pay increase deal from the government.

He was speaking on Thursday during a burial in Kesses, Kesses Sub-County. He repeated the same sentiments later in another requim in Sugoi, Turbo Sub-County.
