The purpose of life is not to be happy alone but to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference in other people’s lives.
Uasin Gishu is living to this through minding the needy this festive season through distributing foodstuffs and Christmas gifts.
Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno on Tuesday evening led other stakeholders in lighting 2019 Governor’s Christmas tree and presentation of foodstuffs and gifts from well-wishers to Social services to be channeled to rescue centre.
Speaking at the event Deputy Governor called on the residents to be mindful of their neighbors citing that this is a moment of embracing each other in need and in love.
Chemno asked the residents especially to the parents to come close to their children to avoid the rising cases of street children.
He further warned those who will indulge in unlawful acts noting that the County is working with the security agencies and perpetrators will face the full force of the law.
On his part, Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdirisack Jaldesa noted that he will ensure that there will be maximum security during the season assuring the County residents that all the security teams will be in operation.
This year, the County in partnership with Sponsors and well-wishers were able to raise foodstuffs and gifts worth more than Kshs. 1 million.
The event was also attended by the County CECs, COs, members of the Eldoret Municipal Board, Public Service Board, Eldoret Business Community and the County staff.
