As the Fall Army Warm eradication campaign headed to Turbo Sub-County, farmers have been urged to report any incidences of the pests immediately they spot them.
Leading the campaign in Sugoi, Agriculture Chief Officer Julius Rotich noted that early detection of the pest is crucial as it will help in controlling it’s spread.
Addressing the farmers, Rotich hinted that the County is committed towards total eradication of the pest. He urged farmers to help towards the achievement of the same.
“Together we can control these pests. Ensure that you continue spraying the farms even after we are gone. That is the greatest way you can help us as a County”. Said Rotich.
“…as a County, we are very much concerned on your welfare as the farmers and this is the reason we want to fight this pest”, added the CO.
On his side, Agriculture Director Wilbur Mutai echoed the CO’s sentiments by calling on the farmers to follow instructions regarding effective control of the pest.
“Shortage of rains increases the chances of attack by these worms and this calls for an immense control. Let us put all our efforts”, advised Director Mutai.
The Chief Officer accompanied by Agriculture Officers Visited several farms in Tapsagoi ward and adjacent areas.
The Campaign will cut across all the Sub Counties in the coming days.
