The Department of Cooperatives and Enterprise Development staff on Wednesday had a brief training and did a performance review.
Speaking during the meeting, the County Secretary Mr Edwin Bett who was the Chief guest for the day challenged the staff to do their best in delivering services to the residents because the department is at the heart of HE the Governor.
“This department is at the heart of HE and that is why he made it a fully fledged department. Double your efforts so that you don’t disappoint the residents who have great expectations from you” Added Mr Bett.
He further emphasised that the Governor, HE Hon Jackson Mandago counts on the department in improving the livelihoods of all residents in Uasin Gishu.
The CECM for Cooperatives and Enterprise Development, Ms Esther Mutai urged them to always recognize people and be ready to seize opportunities.
“For people to listen and buy your ideas, you must recognize people and know your product well,” said the CECM.
The Ag Chief Officer, Mr Isaac Lagat and the Ag Cooperatives Commissioner Ms Roselyne Rae both thanked the staff and called on them to brand themselves and represent the county well by serving residents.
The department has so far carried out 43 sensitization programs, registered over 40 cooperatives, attended over 65 annual general meetings for cooperatives, done 100 audits and trained 38 cooperative societies on Corporate Governance and Leadership among others.
The team was stirred up by Mr Kilimo a motivational speaker and were taught Customer Care skills by Ms Diana Keshe, Customer care Advisor from Trans National Bank.
