The County Government is mandated to conserving wildlife. It is equally tasked with resolving the Human-Wildlife conflict brought about by the same.
On Tuesday, the Department of Tourism and Wildlife management officers led by the Director Margaret Aiyabei flanked by KWS officers visited Plateau where there have been incidences of Human-Wildlife conflict in the area surrounding the industrial park.
A flock of between 70 to 100 antelopes have not only caused destruction to crops but also they have hampered the construction process of the industrial park. They have knocked down the perimeter fence in an attempt to move into the park.
After assessing the situation, it was resolved that the animals will be captured and relocated to Sosiani park, Rimoi game reserve and other parks within the North Rift region.
The Director has called upon the residents within the County to raise the alarm of wildlife invasion in their areas of residence so as to avoid Human-Wildlife conflict.
