Donors of Global Civic Sharing, a Non-Governmental Body that has been partnering with the Uasin Gishu County Government on various projects related to Persons With Disabilities for the past one year on Tuesday morning paid a courtesy call to the County Public Service Board.
On hand to receive them was County Public Service Board Commissioner Mrs. Joywin Sang Koech who enumerated to them the various strides the County has made on meeting the needs of Persons With Disabilities in the County.
The Non Governmental body donated an Orthopedic workshop to Uasin Gishu District Hospital and has been on the forefront in reaching out to persons with disabilities (PWD’s) in the County in various ways including training them on Business Proposal Writing and Leadership Training.
Mrs. Koech thanked them for choosing to partner with the County on empowering PWD’s noting the benefits of the exercise to the community in general.
The team from Korea was impressed with the County’s commitment towards meeting the needs of her entire people, picking a great lesson, which they promised to spread to other areas.
The administration since inception has been championing for equal opportunities through different avenues which include Ring Fencing Adverts for employment for Persons with Disability, Reserving Tenders and Budgetary allocation among others.
