Uasin Gishu County through the department of Environment, Water, Energy and Natural Resources is soon rolling out electricity and water Services to the residents of Mogoon, Moi’s Bridge ward, Soy Sub-County.

Speaking to the residents, Executive in charge of Environment, Water, Energy and Natural Resources Ms. Mary Njogu stated the County’s commitment in providing electricity and water services to all its residents, noting Mogoon as the next area to benefit from these services.

“What we do is to facilitate you in getting the electricity power but you as a community should support us through paying the charges you are required to, thus fast tracking the process”, Said Ms. Njogu

“We want to assure you of electricity and water services as soon as possible, all we want is for you sit and help us know the number of households so that we may calculate the cost per household after getting quotation from the Kenya Power”, added Njogu.

Ms. Njogu further noted that she is going to send surveyors to check on water catchment areas which will in turn help the department know where to get water to be supplied to Mogoon.

Speaking to the residents, Moi’s Bridge ward Administrator Ann Chepkoech asked the residents to join and support the County Government in the projects noting that the County under the leadership of H.E Jackson K. Arap Mandago is in the process of finalizing the projects across the County, citing the provision of electricity in Moi’s Bridge ward which is underway.

She further urged that they should join co-operative societies which was echoed by Ms. Njogu, saying it helps the County reach the residents with ease and provide services which will improve the livelihood of the people in the area.

Residents of Moi’s Bridge are also set to benefit with water from the ongoing Mosongo water project, which cuts across Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet and Trans-Nzoia Counties, which will also benefit the residents of Ziwa and Segero Barsombe wards.
