The County Government of Uasin Gishu and Safaricom’s Enterprise section have vowed to work towards expanding areas of partnerships.
Speaking in her office when she hosted the company’s delegation on a courtesy call, CECM in charge of ICT Trade and Industrialization Dr. Emily Kogos said the partnership will include among other things fleet management system, the management of USSD code and installation CCTV in the Central Business District (CBD).
Fleet management will see the location of the county vehicles, fuel theft monitoring amongst other areas. The USSD code will on the other hand house all the county revenue streams” said Kogos
On his part, Trade and Industrialisation Chief Officer Simeon Tanui reiterated on the importance of having all county revenue streams housed in one code for ease of management.
We have close to 1000 revenue streams upon synchronizing all the payments in one code, we will definitely hit our annual revenue projection of Sh 1.2b,” said Tanui
ICT and e-Government Chief Officer John Kemboi said CCTV installation will to a great extent improve security in the town.
Car theft has been on the rise in the town but the cameras will help in track recording and this will not only help recover the lost properties but also warn the law offenders,” said Kemboi
The team later attended the department of ICT staff meeting held at the county headquarters to know what different sections have achieved this quarter on matters of service delivery.
