Savings and credit co-operative societies in Uasin Gishu County must streamline the management of their finances.
The County Government of Uasin Gishu through the Department of Co-operatives and Enterprise Development organized a meeting with the Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Co-operatives KUSCCO as the national regulator presented a financial management software.
Kuscco through its subsidiary IRNET Coop Kenya presented the ASP-Finsacco, application software that is engineered to facilitate saccos’ management of financial systems.
Kuscco in their presentation highlighted that the software will enable central administration, integrated reporting system, tracking of the customer, among others.
The software, according to Kuscco, is already working in Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
Chief Officer for Cooperatives and Enterprise Development, Mr. Pius Kigen, said the County will continue working closely with Kuscco to improve the sector in Uasin Gishu County.
We shall continue working together and going forward, especially with the introduction of such systems, we will be engaging most importantly on training,” said Kigen.
On his part, information Communication Technology Chief Officer, Mr. John Kemboi, said Uasin Gishu has fully adopted technological systems in service delivery.
Mr. Kemboi said the County welcomes the coming of the Saccos systems, adding that the department is always ready to work with any partner coming in to help in development.
Directors Mr. Isaac Lagat (Enterprise) his ICT counterpart, Titus Kimaiyo, as well as officials from cooperatives, also attended the meeting held at the department offices in Kapsoya.
