County residents set to benefit from Ngeria Fertilizer plant
The Executive coordinator Toyota Tsusho Fertilizer Africa Limited (TTFA) Kantaro Yoneda has refuted claims that Ngeria based fertilizer company has already recruited its staff.
Speaking at the county headquarters on Monday during a consultative meeting with Kapseret, Kesses administrators and chiefs, Yoneda said the recruitment of the staff will take place immediately after the plants’ commissioning on Thursday by the H.E the The President of the Republic of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta.
He advised the public that the company’s aim is to develop the community livelihoods by offering them job opportunities since the factory is within their locality.
“The first hand beneficiaries are the people who reside within the locality, as soon as the company progresses to the standards that is set, employment of the people will go a mile step as per the slots advertised ”said Yoneda
The company’s fertilizer as stated earlier is expected to lead to reduction of fertilizer prices to about 40 per cent.
Ngeria ward member of The County Assembly Of Uasin Gishu Hon. Stephen Leting urged the company’s coordinators to put the county administration in front whenever they have issues pertaining employment for the residents to benefit.
The Chief Officer for Coordination and Administration Mr. Edwin Bett called on the county residents to be on the lookout and all time be on standby in seeking job opportunities that will come with the established company.
The factory is set to produce 200 tons of fertilizer daily.
