COUNTY RESIDENTS ADVISED ON REGULAR MEDICAL CHECK-UP

The Department of Health Services in conjunction with Africa Cancer Foundation, Old Mutual, MTRH/AMPATH and other partners on Tuesday rolled out a two day free medical camp at the Uasin Gishu County District Hospital.

Speaking at the event, the CECM in charge of Health Services Mrs. Everlyne Rotich called on the residents to frequently visit the County facilities for check-up and treatment and not wait for free medical camps to be held.

The rising cases of people suffering from cancer and high blood pressure has forced the County Government to use all means to advise residents to regularly and frequently visit the available facilities across the County for free check-ups.

Among the free services being offered are breast, prostate and cervical cancer screening, blood pressure, hypertension tests among others.

The UGDH medical superintendent Dr. Jedidah Wangechi Kiprop noted that the event targets to have screened over 1000 people by the COB tomorrow.

This event is a curtain raiser of the main event which will be the opening of the new laboratory that will be held on the 29th of this month and will be presided by H.E Jackson K. Arap Mandago.
