County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries Mr. Samwel Yego has called upon county livestock farmers to avail their cattle for vaccination the moment the administration announced.
This, Yego says is the only way the county can be free from annual diseases that keep tricking dairy animals especially cows across the county.
Speaking today in Sergoit Ward, during the distribution of acaricides to cattle dips across Moiben Sub-County under the department’s program dubbed restocking, reviving and establishing new dips, Yego challenged dips committees across the county to keep their dipping records noting that any county funding towards a single dip will be determined by their records.
“Generally the dips that we are considering for support are those that did not benefit in the previous phase and those are have been greatly affected by the floods,” explained Yego
At least five dips from every ward benefited, Next week the distribution exercise heads to Soy, Turbo, Kapseret, and Kesses Sub-counties.
Sergoit Ward MCA Hon David Keitany and his Moiben counterpart Noah Kemboi, and Chief Officer for Livestock Dr. Victoria Tarus were present.
