The County Government of Uasin Gishu on Tuesday launched Producer Organization Inclusion Grants at Singalo Farmers Cooperative Society Milk Cooler in Tarakwa ward, Kesses Sub-County where four groups benefitted with over 2,700,000 that will be used for member mobilization and training.
Speaking during the launch Agriculture CECM Samuel Yego encouraged the farmers to embrace Operation Lita Kumi by rearing and managing fewer animals that can produce a minimum of 10 litres in a day.
With the grants, we expect you to fill the cooler with the milk collected because we need to see you improve your breeds through proper feeding,” Said Yego.
Agriculture Chief Officer Julius Rotich urged the youth to invest in the County and KCSAP programs since it is the only way they can empower themselves economically.
Tarakwa Ward MCA Hon Patrick Bundotich thanked the County through KCSAP saying many youths have opted into self-employment through the world bank’s programs.
KCSAP offers three value chains that include Irish potatoes, indigenous poultry and dairy farming.
