County to establish mobile clinics

The County Government of Uasin Gishu is working on establishing mobile clinics in areas where the distance between health facilities is still a challenge to County residents who are seeking health care services.

This according to the County executive in charge of Health Services Ms. Evelyn Rotich, will ensure that health care services will easily be accessed by all residents across the County.

Ms Rotich’s sentiments come amid the pronounced Government’s key agendas among them, access to health services to wananchi.

She said her department is working towards rolling out an ambulance strategy that will see all County ambulances reach out to the County residents in a short duration.

“We’re also working on the improvement of the County indicators as well as making sure that we maximize the health care systems” she added.

On his part, Tarakwa Ward Mca Hon. Patrick Bundotich said they are soon going to establish a pilot programme which will see people aged above 70 years and those with chronic diseases covered by NHIF.

“It is our prayer that Ampath continue giving us, ‘the County’ more priorities on the same” he added.

Hon Bundotich and the Health CECM were speaking on Thursday during a meeting funded by Ampath on population health strategic planning.

The meeting brought on board the County Health Management Team and the County Assembly’s Health Committee.
