The County Government of Uasin Gishu Department of Cooperatives and Enterprise Development has continued to strengthen saccos across the county by training officials from various Saccos.

Speaking during the training, the County Enterprise Development Fund Director Mr Issac Lagat, said that the 3-day training of officials will focus on Financial Management, Sacco Governance, membership outreach and resource mobilization as a way to support the revival and strengthening of Saccos across the County.

He said the Department will continue to carry specialized training for cooperative societies to build their capacities therefore, enhancing service delivery and recruitment of more members.

“As a Department, we are carrying out capacity building for Sacco officials, who then will be expected to cascade down the expertise gained from the training to Sacco members,” said Lagat.

He added that the department will strengthen every organization’s capacity across the County so that it can achieve its goal and fulfil its mission.
