The County Executive Committee Member for Cooperatives and Enterprise Development, Ms. Esther Mutai has challenged cooperative members to strive to better their lives as much as they work to boost the economy of the County.
She spoke at Chebororwa ATC while officially opening a 4-day Governance Training for 20 cooperatives societies drawn from Soy and Moiben Sub-Counties.
The CECM further went on to train the leaders on Strategic planning and advised them to do their level best to actualize the strategic plan.
“The best part of the strategic plan is implemented.” Added Ms. Mutai.
The training of the over 90 trainees who are committee members for Marketing Cooperatives aims at equipping them with skills on corporate governance in cooperatives, structure and management of a cooperative society, the role of members in corporate governance, record keeping, financial management, budgeting and budgetary controls, compliance matters in Cooperatives, ethics and integrity, strategic planning, interpretation of financial statements, ICT and human resource matters.
Seasoned facilitators in charge of training the team include; Mr. Isaac Tubei from Mumberes Famers Society in Baringo, Mr. Ishmael Mengich from Baringo, the County Cooperative Auditor Mr. Wambugu, Senior Cooperative Officer Ms. Roselyne Rae and other Cooperatives officers.
