Growing devolution should be the biggest and most important pillar if agitation for constitutional change is anything to go by.
According to Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago EGH, adding resources for the growth of devolution should feature in a big way if the constitution should be changed.
The Governor speaks even as the country’s politics set the stage for the discussion of change of the constitution through the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Speaking in Kapseret Sub-County on Monday, Mandago also said the introduction of regional governments should not be established at the expense of county governments.
Mandago said setting up of regional governments should not disadvantage structures and resource allocation for county governments.
The County boss was speaking during the burial of Jeremiah Koech Sorobit in Kapseret Sub-County. MPs Caleb Kositany (Soy), Oscar Sudi (Kapseret), Kenya’s ambassador to Pakistan Julius Bittok, and politicians Jonathan Bii and Chebichii Lelei were in attendance.
