Kenya’s Confucius Institute at Moi University (CIMU) in collaboration with China’s Donghua University on Tuesday held a fashion show in Eldoret as part of efforts to promote linkages between Kenya and The Peoples Republic of China.
While gracing the event, Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor H.E Hon Daniel Chemno, hailed the cordial relations between the two countries saying that there’s a long history of bilateral economic activities and the introduction of the cultural and language exchange program is a huge step forward.
…..to have such an Institute, enables the locals to learn and appreciate the culture of the Chinese people. As the County of Uasin Gishu, we appreciate and we know it will bring us even much closer….” Chemno said.
CIMU was co-established in 2015 by Moi University and Donghua University in Shanghai China and is the only Confucius Institute featuring textile engineering and fashion shows across the world.
Chinese ambassador to Kenya, Wu Peng said this fashion show will help showcase the Chinese and Kenyan textiles with the aim of boosting and promote the Kenyan-China relationship.
