The completion of a fully-fledged Kesses Sub-county hospital is well on course, Uasin Gishu County Executive for Health Services, Mrs. Everlyne Rotich has said.
Mrs. Rotich spoke on Wednesday at the facility when she led a delegation of government officials on an inspection tour.
We have now completed construction of phase one which comprises a maternity wing, laboratory, antenatal care services, accident and emergency and outpatient facilities,” She pointed out.
Mrs. Rotich also said that the tender for the award of the construction of the facility’s phase II will be advertised in the next few weeks.
Speaking during the visit Roads and Public Works County Executive Eng. Gideon Birir commended the contractor on carrying out quality work and in a good time.
The second phase which is to be commenced during the financial year 2019/2020 will see the establishment of specialized facilities like a theatre and specialized services to ensure accessibility to a wide range of quality health services in line with the Universal Health Coverage and the spirit of devolution to reduce the distance and costs that residence have to bear within search of specialized services.
Other County Officers present during the visit included Acting Chief Officer Health Kenneth Mbeka, Barnabas Too ( Chief Officer Roads) and Political Advisor Wilson Koros.
