The Commission of Revenue Allocation director Mr. James Katuli has thrown his weight behind the economic and budget training that was launched on Thursday saying that it was paramount to the development of Counties.
Speaking on Thursday in Eldoret, Mr. Katuli said that it is important to properly identify priorities and capture them in the budget.
The training brought together various CECMS from the entire North Rift region.
The trained officers formed a budget committee that will represent their Counties on budgetary planning.
The committee was further tasked with the responsibility of making sure that they benchmark with the public on issues of budget.
The emphasis of commission is to see all counties participate in the EMF act.
Uasin Gishu County Secretary Peter Leley who was representing Governor H.E Jackson Mandago thanked the commission for convening the training citing that it will promote public participation.
Nandi County Governor H.E Stephen Sang and Trans Nzoia Deputy Governor H.E Stanley Kenei Tarus were among the dignitaries present.
