COME OUT AND REGISTER : PWD’s URGED

County Executive Committee Member Education, Culture, Social Services, Youth Affairs and Sports Joseph Kurgat has called upon Persons With Disabilities to come out in masses and register with National Council for Persons with Disabilities so that they get assisted by government and other agencies.

Speaking in Kiplombe, Kurgat reiterated on the need of having registered and own a card from the National Council of Person With Disabilities as this was the only way of identifying  PWD’s.

You can get free grants channelled to persons with disabilities from the National Government, get bursaries and import vehicles for free,” says Kurgat.

Disability is not inability, your coming is an indication that you are interested in accessing various services through registering, this will be of great benefit in community development,” said Education, Culture and Social Services Chief Officer Jane Njuguna.

Sally Chemurgor Kisorio, from Chebarus Village, thanked the County Government of Uasin Gishu for moving round the wards to sensitize the public and the marginalized group, saying that she has greatly suffered while looking for the card.
