Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor H.E Hon. Daniel Chemno has stressed the need to strengthen governing laws and regulations for a smooth and vibrant cooperative movement in the country.
He challenged co-operatives societies to be cautious while undertaking their businesses to avert possible collapse.
The DG asked the societies to take advantage of the enabling environment provided by the stand-alone department citing cheap loans tailor made for Cooperatives societies.
“It is the vision of H.E the Governor to see all farmers join the cooperative society,” The Deputy County boss added.
He said this when he hosted a team from the County Cooperative Development Committee led by the chairman Mr. Ben Rono on their follow up of the World Cooperative Day events. Cooperatives Chief Officer Mr. Pius Kigen was in attendance.
