Uasin Gishu Governor H.E Jackson Mandago has called for more foreign investors to move into the North Rift economic bloc (Noreb)
Speaking when he hosted British ambassador to Kenya Nic Hailey, who paid him a courtesy call in his office at the county headquarters in Eldoret town, H.E Mandago outlined several areas that need investors.
He named Agribusiness especially in coffee, pyrethrum and passion fruits as potential investment opportunities.
“Under Noreb, we have a whole package where investors can venture in ranging from agriculture, cement, meat, dairy, flower etc,” noted H.E Mandago.
“Processing of milk products and other agricultural products will help the region. We need slaughter houses, maize milling plants and other ventures based on strength of the various counties,” he added.
The governor who is the Noreb chairman further said the region that covers 8 counties has a great potential in tourism due to its natural sceneries.
On his part the UK envoy to Kenya said its citizens are ranked the majority of foreign tourists that visit the country.
