Uasin Gishu County government on Tuesday unveiled bursary kitty worth 135 million Kenya shillings, for the bright and needy students.
According to Uasin Gishu County governor Jackson Mandago, the funds will be distributed equally at the ward level.
He further cited many development projects initiated by the county citing the 580 ECDE classrooms constructed across the entire county.
” Let our yardstick of measurement be what we have done for the residents of our county” noted H.E Mandago.
He added, ” Every ward will get 4.5 million. We don’t want any student to stay at home due to lack of fees, ”
The County Chief said that his government will continue sponsoring students at RVTTI to pursue technical courses.
“We want our students to be equipped with technical skills to prevent a situation where we get labour from foreign countries, “noted the county boss.
He, however, urged parents to take their children to school for them to face the competitive job market
“As a county we value education. Invest in your children by taking them to school” H.E said.
