County Partners with AMREF Health Africa in training its HFMCs

img-20161122-wa0001The County Government of Uasin Gishu department of Health Services in conjunction with AMREF Health Africa and the National  Government on Tuesday held a meeting with the Health Facility Management committees (HFMC) within the county to discuss on the basic requirements to operate and meet their allocated roles.

The mandate of HFMCs is to oversee the use of resources received or mobilised for services at the health facility. The training therefore is set to offer supportive supervision and enable participants to acquire knowledge and skills in their oversight role for the management of resources in the health facilities.

The other role is the provision of leadership that promotes accountability, transparency and efficiency in the use of financial,making use of varioud types of data, reports and other resources in the health facilities.

Speaking during the meeting at Hotel Comfy, the Chief Officer for Health Services Mr Simon Kemei lauded the members present and urged them to take advantage of the meeting to learn more and to network with each other in order  to adapt more on their expanded roles.

“ Take the challenge, work together to ensure growth of the county at large and feel free to share ideas or visit the county at anytime to have supportive decisions.” Said Kemei.

Uasin Gishu County is rated third countrywide  in terms of development a move that has seen departments continue rolling out various flagship projects.

The training that is scheduled to end on Friday was also conducted concurrently at Wagon Wheel and St John’s Pastoral Centre.
