The County Government of Uasin Gishu will in the next few weeks award tender for reconstruction and modernization of Eldoret’s 64 Stadium.
The County Government has allocated monies for reconstruction and uplift of the stadium that is remembered for staging national football league matches back in the 90s. It was the stable for league contenders KCC FC then.

Chemno started the 5km race and finished.
The DG also asked the national government to fast-track the completion of Kipchoge Stadium, whose phase two works have since stalled.
Chemno spoke few hours after one of Kenya’s most decorated athletes, Fatuma Zarika, lost her WBC Super Bantamweight boxing title to homegirl Yamileth Mercado in a bout held in Mexico.
In about that has had a fair share of reactions, sports pundits say Zarika “gave it out”. The Kenyan boxer is reported as saying she is yet to feel the government’s support for sports development.
But Eldoret’s Kipchoge Stadium, perched in Kenya’s nerve of athletics-and to extension the world’s mecca of running, has been under construction for over 7 years now.
The stadium is under the national government.
