Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor H.E Hon Daniel Chemno has challenged health workers to continue investing in scientific research.
Speaking on Wednesday morning during the 20th Kenya Clinical Association Scientific conference held at an Eldoret Hotel, the Deputy Governor said that research was the only way of enhancing professional development.
He said that research presents new emerging trends and issues affecting the health staff in their respective cadres besides presenting new innovations.
His sentiments were echoed by Health County Executive Committee Member Mrs. Everlyne Rotich who said the research was paramount in the health sector.
The two leaders praised the work done by Clinical Officers saying they play an integral role in manning and running the day to day activities of a number of health facilities in Uasin Gishu County.
The DG said that clinical offices stood with the County Administration at the hour of need when the doctors were on strike last year.
He said that the administration will continue supporting and equipping the clinicians adding that the cadre is the main drivers of realizing the government’s agenda of providing quality health care to all.
Mrs. Rotich said that the County Government will continue prioritizing the provision of quality services in all the facilities in the entire County.
