Rwandan President Paul Kagame is on Monday expected to officially open the 20th edition of the annual East African Community Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs) Trade Fair Gikondo Expo Grounds in Kigali, Rwanda.
During the Expo, each day will be allocated for the EAC member state.
Kenyan day will be on Wednesday.
While visiting East African Secretariat, Uasin Gishu CEC in Charge of Trade Dr. Emily Kogos said the trade fair will give an opportunity for SMEs in-state partner’ countries to interact and share ideas.
It will also portray our cultural project and cultural interaction,” she noted.
The CEC further pointed out that the trade Fair will enhance togetherness, strengthen unity and spur development in the region.
It is also part of ways of promoting cohesion and integration with state partners,” she said.
Uasin Gishu County was lauded by Richard Muteti, Project Manager East Africa Jua Kali Nguvu Kazi for hosting the Jua Kali Expo last year in Eldoret.
And for that, Uasin Gishu County was the only devolved unit given special treatment,” said Muteti
Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago EGH and his Elgeiyo Marakwet counterpart Eng. Alex Tolgos are already in Kigali, Rwanda to attend the Trade fair.
More than 10 exhibitors from Uasin Gishu are already in Kigali to display their cultural products.
Uasin Gishu County Assembly Chair of the Trade committee David Keitany and Uasin Gishu county Jua Kali Association Secretary-General Richard Opar McOnduto are among the delegations.
